Puerto Blanco, Calpe

Puerto Blanco Beach is a small, semi-urban beach situated beside the old Puerto Blanco marina area, southwest of Calpe town centre.

Unlike Calpe’s larger sandy beaches, Puerto Blanco has a mixture of coarse sand, pebbles and rocky areas. The beach is approximately 100 metres long and 10 metres wide, making it considerably smaller than Arenal-Bol Beach or La Fossa Beach.

Its generally calm water and more enclosed setting make it an attractive place for swimming and snorkelling. However, visitors should bring suitable footwear because the pebbles and rocks can make entering the water uncomfortable in bare feet.

Swimming and snorkelling

Puerto Blanco is particularly suited to visitors who prefer a smaller beach to Calpe’s long stretches of fine sand.

The combination of clear water, pebbles and rocky areas can provide good conditions for snorkelling. However, underwater visibility and sea conditions depend on the weather, and visitors should always follow the beach safety flags.

Seagrass may be visible in the water or washed onto the shore. This is a natural part of the Mediterranean coastal environment and is not evidence that the beach is dirty.
