The Javea Moors & Christians Fiesta takes place in Javea, Spain, in the 3rd week in July every year. This fiesta is absolutely unmissable and a summer treat for locals and tourists alike.
The 2026 Fiesta will start with the traditional presentation evening on and the festival will end with the main gala parades.


Saturday 11 July - Opening Presentation
8:00 am Opening of the festival headquarters (Casales Festeros).
8:00 pm Parade through the port to collect the representatives of the participating Filaes.
8:30 pm Complimentary wine reception hosted by the Captain Filà AL-TARIKS in Calle Sevilla.
9:00 pm Parade through the port with the representatives taking part in the official presentation.
9:20 pm Official opening of the festival with the ceremonial rocket launch and switching on of the festival lights in Avenida Jaime I.
9:30 pm Official Presentation of the 2026 Moors and Christians Festival in Avenida Lepanto, attended by municipal and festival representatives. The official proclamation will be delivered by César Rodríguez Macho.
11:30 pm KRAKATOA Mobile Disco until 4:00 am with bar service provided by the 2027 Captaincy.
Sunday 12 July
1:00 pm Charanga (brass band) parade through the port, organised by Filà Schaitans.
8:30 pm 21st Fiesta Music Concert in Avenida Lepanto performed by the Centre Artístic Musical de Xàbia, conducted by Gonzalo de la Guía with guest conductor Rafael Mullor Grau. The evening also includes a performance by Ballet de ENDANZA.
Monday 13 July
9:00 pm Visit to Arenal Beach. Parade along the Paseo del Tenista David Ferrer, followed by a fireworks display. Afterwards, snacks and refreshments will be provided for participating Filaes by Restaurante La Fontana, Posidonia and Náutica Canal de la Fontana.
Tuesday 14 July
8:00 pm Visit to the Historic Centre. Parade through the old town for a floral offering to the patron saint, Sant Jaume, followed by a fireworks display.
Wednesday 15 July – Flower Offering to Sant Jaume
8:15 pm Alardo Festero (Mock Gun Battle) in Avenida Jaime I.
8:15 pm Flower Offering to Sant Jaume. The procession will make its way to the Church of Nuestra Señora de Loreto, where the Filaes and Festival Committee will also make a food donation to Cáritas.
10:30 pm Paella Competition in Calle Sevilla between all the Filaes, with ingredients provided by Supermercado SUMA. The evening includes live charanga music, prizes for the three best paellas and a mobile disco until 3:00 am.
Thursday 16 July - The Moorish Landing
9:00 pm Gathering of the Christian troops on Playa de la Grava.
9:30 pm Moorish Landing, recreating the arrival of the Moorish troops by sea with traditional blunderbuss fire. Performed by LEGEND in collaboration with the Traditional Boat Association.
10:00 pm Moorish Ambassador and the Surrender of the Castle in Paseo Jaime I, followed by the withdrawal of both sides.
12:00 am Night of the Charangas, visiting the different Filaes' headquarters with festival members and the general public.
Friday 17 July - The Christian Reconquest
11:00 am Charanga parade organised by Filà Almoradins and Filà Almoriscos.
5:00 pm 25th Pepe Prats Valencian Pilota Trophy in Calle Virgen de Loreto.
9:00 pm Battle with blunderbuss fire between the Christian and Moorish sides on Playa de la Grava.
9:30 pm Christian Ambassador and the Reconquest of the Castle by the Christian troops in Paseo Jaime I, performed by LEGEND.
12:30 am Vinyl Disco featuring classic pop, rock and indie music from the 1960s, 70s and 80s, organised by Captain Filà AL-TARIKS in Calle Manuel Bordes Vallés.
Saturday 18 July - First Gala Parade
12:00 pm Parade led by Captain Filà AL-TARIKS, the standard bearers and the organising committee, visiting the various Filà headquarters.
8:00 pm First Gala Parade featuring all the Filaes, the Moors and Christians standard bearers and Captain Filà AL-TARIKS.
11:30 pm Live music and dancing with the LÍMITE Show Band in Paseo Pintor Joaquín Sorolla until 4:00 am, with bar service available.
Sunday 19 July - Second Gala Parade
10:00 am Children's water games in Paseo Jaime I.
10:30 am Ice creams and milkshakes served by the Moors and Christians standard bearers.
11:00 am Charanga parade organised by Filà Contrabandistes.
6:00 pm Entrance of the music bands. All participating bands will perform the pasodoble Xàbia together in Paseo Jaime I, conducted by David Castelló Silvestre.
7:00 pm Second Gala Parade featuring all the Filaes, the Moors and Christians standard bearers and Captain Filà AL-TARIKS, who will close the procession.
After the parade: Nocturnal mascletà (fireworks display) on Playa de la Grava.
Saturday 25 July - Sant Jaume Day
7:30 pm Gathering at the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de Loreto.
8:00 pm Mass in honour of Sant Jaume and in memory of deceased members of the festival.
