Javea Carnival 2020 | Fiestas in Javea 2020
A carnival has been celebrated in Javea since the 80s and has become very popular for Children and Adults. The festivities start with a children's costume parade, followed by a musical performance for them. At night, it is the adults' turn to have fun. From Plaza del Convent starts a colourful parade of costumes and it ends at Plaza de la Constitución where the party continues with a street disco until the early hours of the morning.
The carnival is an opportunity for one last night of excess before the 40 days of lent. Information on the 2020 Carnival is not yet available. For guidance, pelase refer to the 2019 Programme provided below.
Saturday 2nd March
17:00 Children's Parade sets off from the Plaza de la Constitución. It passes through the streets of Xàbia Histórico and arrives back at the Plaza where children's music and animations will be offered.
23:00 Adult's Parade and Costume Contest. The parade begins at 23:00 at the Placeta del Convent. Registration for participation must occur before 22:30. The parade of costumes will end in the Plaza Constitución. The Diamonds Orchestra will perform, followed by a disco.
The costume competition prizes are €150 for the group catergory, €100 for best couple costume, and €50 for best individual costume.
