Every year on December 12th / 13th, there are festivities and a pilgrimage in honour of Santa Llucía.

Thursday 12th December 2024 - Friday 13th December 2024
The celebrations for Santa Llucia begin on December 12th with an informal parade led by a local band.
The members of the fiesta committee carry baskets filled with doughnuts and bottles filled with Mistela wine which they hand out as the procession passes by. The parade travels through the streets of Javea Old Town, arriving the Calle de Santa Llúcia.
On the morning of 13th December, the town is woken by traditional 'desperta' (firecrackers) In the centre of town, the fiesta organisers gather outside the ancient church of San Bartolomé and begin the pilgrimage to the chapel.
The small procession travels up to the chapel square, in time for the mass to start at 11am.
